Unforgettable Winter Solstice 2013

I have had the most unforgettable Winter Solstice Dinner last night! 

We were having hot pot dinner to celebrate the festival, and then after 20 mins. we had a black out!  No heat, nothing!!  Continued to finish the prawns, oysters and beef and then left everything there, hoping that electricity would be available again soon!

Unfortunately, our wish did not come true.  The whole city was in complete darkness, and we had to suffer a long and cold night, without heat!

Haven't been going to bed before 9am for decades!  I woke up a few times in the middle of the night, hoping that the nightmare would be over, but it was only a dream!

Continued to suffer this morning............

Pork Rib Soup with Carrots, Pumpkin and Apples

 

 We have had quite a lot of snowfall lately, and still very cold, around -20C or so.  A nourishing soup for the winter season is ideal.

 

Taro and Coconut Milk Sweet Soup

I have been sick for a week now, with headache, chest congestion, and an occasionally stuffed and occasionally runny nose, and cough too!  Couldn't sleep at night time as both nostrils were blocked as soon as I lied down in bed!
